Rose Guthridge

A former physical therapist turned substitute teacher and lifelong lover of art, Rose Guthridge has been involved with art at Terrell School for 13 years.  First hired in 1998 to fill in for the staff person who was establishing the Art Vista curriculum at Terrell, Rose went on to coordinate that program for the next four years until grant funding expired.  She then taught art after school to Terrell's GATE students.  In 2008, Rose was hired along with Jane Taheri to re-establish a school wide art program at Terrell.  Together, they developed and taught a Master Artist series to students in grades K-5 and a Sketch Book program to students in grades 2-5.  Less than a year into these new programs, funding was rescinded.  Rose and Jane needed to find an innovative way to keep art at Terrell School alive. They decided to establish a non profit organization----Art Angels For Kids, Inc.

Today, Art Angels continues to provide a multifaceted art experience at Terrell School.  Although Jane Taheri is no longer with the program, Rose and a very dedicated staff provide art services to Terrell students in K-fifth grades with the Master Artist series during the school day, several after school art programs and exciting art opportunities in Monet's Garden, a beautiful representation of the artist's garden in Giverny, France.  Monet's Garden was established by Art Angels at Terrell School in 2010.

Kathy Gentemann

This is my third year working with Art Angels. "Mrs. G." and I have a mutual friend who first told me about Art Angels and introduced me to her. It makes me feel good to be helping with something I feel is so beneficial to the school and the children. "Mrs. G." is so passionate about what she does and I am happy to be able to help her in any way.
